When registering for soccer, the system recognizes the age as of July 31st of the given year. Based on their age at that time, they will be permitted to register for the appropriate league. Specific requests regarding playing with or for specific friends or coaches will be honored to the best of our ability (for U8 and below) until the draft system is utilized.
From a customer service perspective, we realize that the school system establishes September 30th as the “cutoff” date while our cutoff date is July 31st. For that two month “window,” we have established a “window policy” for the “in-town” program only. (Travel soccer requirements still remain unchanged. The 07-31 rule remains.)
The “window policy” states that for those that have birthday’s that fall in the months of August and September, they have an option to “play up” if they so choose. The process that has been established is that a written request (email) by the parent is required to be sent to the commissioner and the coordinator of the current age group / league and copied to the “played up” coordinator after initial registration is completed. The request to “play up” is required each year.
